Mirabai fell in love with tango in California in 2005
Six months later, she moved to Argentina and “accidentally” found herself in Buenos Aires for nine transformative years. There, tango became not only her passion, but her profession and way of life. She performed in prestigious dinner shows and toured extensively throughout Europe and North America. Today, based in Basel, Switzerland, she is devoted to sharing the depth, beauty, and vitality of tango with dancers around the world.
She trained intensively in Buenos Aires with renowned masters Horacio Godoy and Natacha Poberaj. Before dedicating herself fully to tango, Mirabai earned a degree in Astronomy from the University of California, Santa Cruz. For over fifteen years, she has toured internationally, teaching and performing Tango in Norway, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Hawaii, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Alaska, and even the Arctic Circle. Tango has become her enduring source of energy and inspiration, and she is recognized as a world-class instructor and performer.
As a teacher, Mirabai is known for being kind, perceptive, and precise. Years of experience have refined her ability to quickly identify what a student needs and to guide them toward a deeper, more embodied understanding of tango. Her work focuses not only on technical clarity, but on helping dancers develop an inner feel for the spirit of the dance.
As a dancer, she brings a blend of command and elegance, passion and refinement, grounded in musicality, precision, and emotional depth.
“Mirabai is an absolutely beautiful dancer. The joy she feels when she dances permeates from her and fills the room.”
